I was wondering if the valve gear off a Mantua 4-6-2 will fit the 4-4-2? It's the old ones that are Reading RR. I know most parts are universal between the 2.

Justin, A remarkable thought you have there! How long have you been working on proving your relativity theory of communal parts exchanging on all Mantua locomotives. Please keep us all up to date on your findings. Your work on this subject may prove very useful to all here at the TYCO forum.

EDIT of response dated 1-15-19.
I must mention, most notable scientific evaluators like you of model railroad equipment are known to as they say think out of the box. Now like Einstein you have taken this one step further and have torn up the box into very minute pieces and are microscopically examining every little piece. A task all say can never be accomplished. You bravely now are expanding the realms of model trains.
A very well done to you.
I must converse with my other colleagues here at the TYCO FORUM to see if this endeavor is worthy of some sort of recognition.
Again, still just frank.

Haha. I'll find out soon. Bought a lot of misc stuff and the is a near complete 4-6-2 and the bones to build a 4-4-2. I'll knock out 2 birds with one stone, get my 4-6-2 complete just about and get that ever elusive and rare 4-4-2. Sean told me it should work.

Justin; Well Sean has a history of making old very collectable trains run and look great again. He's very good at it and boy does he have spare parts for just about everything. Good luck with your Atlantic.
