Hi guys:
First off Happy Dominion Day (Canada day for the younger and politically correct) to all the Canucks on the Forum, and Happy 140th to Canada!
and now down to business:
My LotW for this week is to stay with my Alco Delaware & Hudson theme a very nice Atlas RS-11 in D&H Lightning Bolt pattern!

I was top bidder on an auction of a pair of these on Evilbay. I didn't make the reserve so I emailed the guy about a second chance offer. He told me the reserve was $90 for a pair of them and so I asked hinm if he would take 45 for one and he said yes, so, the restory is history...
So, guys time to post up your own!
Best, Gareth

Out of due respect for the Canadians in Bible College who taught me how to eat Mac-N-Cheese with ketchup, use a serviette instead of a napkin, eat Smarties instead of M&Ms, put mayo in my french frie's ketchup AND pronounce Quebec KAY-beck not KWEE-beck...my one piece of Canadian equipment. I bought it just so I'd never forget Andy, Dorey and all the others.
It's a Mehano I purchased online from a fellow in Ontario.

Alrighty then. Happy Canadian-ness! Here's one for the posted theme... my first real piece of Canadian motive power:

Yes, this is the Atlas C425 I mentioned gazing at elsewhere... I got it and its shelf-sister for a deal after all.
When I first saw a CN "zebra" unit in person, I didn't care much for it. And I still don't on EMDs, particularly the carbody diesels. But on this Alco C425, it looks good! Very no-nonsense tough-as-nails down to business. I like some of the goofy little design traits on the alco, like the kink in the handrail for brake clearance, the stancion gussets, the bulldog nose, the angled cab windows and old-school curve contour blending into a "flat" curved hood.
I am debating having the STC acquire this as a secondhand unit, and adding it to the STC roster with a "repaint pending" subletter blankout on the cab number, etc.
And now, one for us yanks, on our week/day:

The impeccable Athearn RTR SD45T-2, in Cotton Belt Bicentennial colors. Possibly one of the most beautiful, impressive models ever released for under $100. And for all the little nitpicky details they left off, I'm amazed at what they actually added on! Of course they left a few things off to give guys like me something to add, which I plan to do... someday.

That Cotton Belt SD45T-2 Bicentennial is really great looking! Did you get the matching Athearn Bay Window Caboose?
