I just received this Tyco shark today. I got it to try and mount a Roco shark frame and motor
to it.

I selected this one because it looks like the original owner started to customize it but eventually
gave up on it. This way I have less stripping to do on the shell.

Will post pics as I progress.

Good luck on the project! By the way, that's Tyco's A-Team Shark.

There were no decals, rather the A-Team logos were stickers, applied by the user. Here's mine.

Are those stickers on that loco. I can see the edges around the name and the "A" on the front?

Yes, definitely stickers. The locomotive was produced black with a distinctive red stripe....and a sticker sheet was provided in the train set, so that "A-Team" stickers could be applied to the locomotive, train cars, and van/helicopter.

Hmmmmm. Is there any way to get a set of those stickers? Is this particular loco hard to find?
If not then I will go ahead and do the modification.

You would have to purchase the entire train set in mint condition in order to get the complete sticker set - because unfortunately, I have never seen spare sticker sets being sold individually....

The A-Team Shark is not extremely rare...but I would rank it as "Hard" to find, in good condition, and cheap. You could use this shell for your project, or consider obtaining the VERY POPULAR Rock Island RR Sharknose shell to modify. Entirely up to you.
