I attended the Maurer auction today at Pottsville, PA. There were two auctions, one focusing on Lionel Tinplate and another with 550 lots of HO. I was amazed at the amount of older HO. The prices were a fraction of the usual e-bay prices. There were a few crisp boxed sets and they did sell at a premium price. I did buy some BLI and Proto 2000 locos and well as some newer items. Here are my Mantua-Tyco buys! Enjoy!

Rickey; you.ve done your one stop shopping for a very nice Tyco-Mantua 1965- early 1975 collection. Don't be surprised if the Buss oggles your finds. Especially the Rio Grand set. * Really nice Tyco trains. frank

Some great finds there, Ricky! You did well. I always enjoy the past era / vintage HO more than many of the modern era makers. Oh, it's great to have a nice smooth Athearn runner, but the character of the old Mantua, Varney, Penn line is hard to ignore for someone like me. COngrats on your fine "new" trains.

After this job is over and I get back home. I'll go through everything and put together a list of items for sale. Chops,I'm sure I have extra DRGW cabooses I can sell you. I'm sure I'll pick up many, many more trains over the next couple of months. I never pass up a good deal. Ebay is fickle as far as older HO, it's either way overpriced or really low priced.

Yes, two of them. All the loose passenger cars (Not in a set) were in a flat for one money.
