Nice score Frank! I spent the weekend in Michigan watching my daughters play some really good ice hockey games. Otherwise I would have loved to be hitting the shows as well!

My LOTW offering... a confirmed 1969 TS P5a. Purchased yesterday as I was driving home from Michigan for an ice hockey tournament.. (bid using a sniping service and received the confirmation push message - I was not eBaying and driving).
I sent pictures to the son of the former owner of Trackside Specialties and he confirmed that it was a TS piece and that it has the Andeco drive chassis. One of only 40 units made in 1969. The 1968 version had an International Models chassis and consisted of only 18 units.

That P5 would be worth crashing in ditch for! Love those huge driving wheels, n'est pas? LOVE those Penn Line cuties, Frank. Didn't they have some advertisement of them in a super small layout? The $64,000 question is do they run, and if so, would they make it over a turn out?

My LOTW offering this week is a John English Pacific 4-6-2. I took it into the shop on Sunday, and finally got the electrical issues fixed, and got it running again. A bit slow and balky, but it's moving again after many years. Needed cleaning and some electrical solder work.

I believe it is the same model, the whole legend was that the head of Penn Line had that on his desk, a "Midget" diesel running around a half dollar/some large dollar coin and one outer rail. It was supposedly a sorta rebuke to anyone who said "They had no space for an HO layout"
sim-al2 Also since they cut track maintaince the trains had huge trouble making over the railroad by the end 純那 yeah They did a Rock Island volountarily

Chops, I did take them apart, clean out the inside, clean the wheels, and yes both run. The kit I won't build. You dont see a unbuilt kit much anymore. I'll save that for the next owner of it to decide what to do with it. frank

This is the early first version (Lead shelled) Penn Line Mini Diesel. It was band/belt drive and has a brass base. The motor stuck out the back of the cab. The later D2 version had the Zimax diecast cab and chassis, It was gear driven and the motor was turned 180 degre inside the shell from the original model. The motor in the D2 was completely enclosed inside the cab, which was slightly larger.
I have a few of each... If you are not careful, they tend to reporduce:
