Well there I sid it.
Must be the summer heat, but this place is dead. Some of the old farts on the Vintage Ho list have more "Sturm & drang" than this lot! Maybe you guys are just wilting under the summer heat I mentioned.
I was hoping the LotW category would stimulate some chin-wagging, but not enough. C'mon people It's not NYC/GIC's/Tony C.'s responsibility to get every discussion going.
I realy miss Catfordken. He was great at stimulating talk.
So here's my nudge... How cool is this???

Hey Gareth. I've noticed that too...nothing is happening here. Maybe if we all just start posting random topics, something interesting will happen.[:D]
I'm working on a whole series of videos of my Tyco engines. I'm only about halfway done though, so it'll still be a couple more weeks. Should I post them here when I'm done so there are a few more topics going, or is everyone sick of seeing my cheezy little layout???[:I]

Hey Eric:
Post away. We need to interject some enrgy in this thing. I'm thinking of adding a contest element to the LotW. The idea is that at the end of each month we all vote on the best LotW posting. Winner gets a TYCO rolling stock piece I'll put up each month. I may even have a End Of Year, LotW contest in which I give away a Tyco/Mantua Locomotive of reasonable value.
Maybe that will stiimulate some posting and photo taking!!??

Well put! Excellent video. Lots to look at. Glad to see Thomas the Tank engine. I have a couple of Tomy units that I got cheaply, originally for my nephew. I like the double deck layout. I had thoughts of that too. Might you share more about it? An entertaining and educational post.

Thanks Alco.
The upper layout is my primary running loop/Christmas display. It features four independent loops of track, each with its own power pack. The DC is 20", 18" and 12" radius, the fourth loop is Marklin AC "M" track. It sits on cork piers I made to give its bridge some lift. The small upper loop is specifically for Thomas and trolleys. I made the piers and arched concrete bridge at the workbench. I do plan on installing working overhead, once I find a semi-durable way to do it. The roundhouse looking thingie is the Christmas tree stand I built from scrap wood.

It sits on a case I built that also houses my N scale empire. It doubles as a bookshelf as we homeschool and I pastor a small home Bible study.

I watch too much "This Old House" and "New Yankee Workshop". The layout sits on a frame that it can be lifted off of. The drawer has a 3 foot long full extension slide. The lower drawer is on a 2 foot set.

I am blessed that my beloved grants me the space without protest. As talk of a third little angel swirls around in our conversation, arrangements are already being made to fit the crib in its own space. I'll probably outfit the crib with its own tethered throttle[;)]

WOW!! That's genious[:P]. I've never seen so many trains is such a small space....well, except for that guy who built a working Z scale layout in a guitar case[;)]. Very cool shaygetz.

| Thanks, Cheez. I made a conscious decision earlier this year to limit how far I plan to model, both now and in the future. Had a slammin' good time selling a bunch of stuff I had accumulated for that future pike on FeeBay earlier this year. In the end, I just like a little ops and a lot of just plain running loops, I'm downright pleased with how it all worked out.

| Thanks, Tony. I use washes and powered pastels, then seal it with Krylon 1311 Matte Finish.

All around craftsmanship! The carpentry on the layout is full of precision woodwork. A fellow could sell copies of the HO portion without scenery to all kinds of people. Inspiring concept!

| Yeah Shaygetz, I pretty much simply forgot to say it, so now I'll just agree - your woodworking (as well as the modeling) is awesome! That's whatchacall all-around craftsmanship right there. [Yeah!]

Can we get a National Lampoon Vacation movie outta that?
If they hadn't torn up the old F&C (Frankfort & Cincinnati) mainline I could totally see one of those lurking around here.
