Going to start 2018 by double dipping- first I finally got this lovely Conrail SW 1500, which came in trade from RP Model Railroads, fired up and put to revenue service. I thought I could just blithely swap a powered chassis under the CR shell. Noooooooo. It took some effort to modify the insulated dummy chassis and an entire motor and transmission swap. But she works nice as you please, now.
Then RP steered into this eBay listing, and I snatched it for $15. Typically these pieces run for North of 80 clams. It runs great and I will put her into an E60 Santa Fe shell. If I get really bored, I might give her a coat of asylum green and red and white PC lettering. But for now I'll just swap into an ATSF Warbonnet. Thank you, RP!

You're quite welcome Chops! I'm honored to see the Conrail switcher, once a dummy, now operating!!! And, congrats on obtaining a good deal on that E60!!
Here's my LOTW contribution:
Last weekend, I won an auction on Ebay for this Mantua Erie Lackawanna F7 #6314 -- in pretty good shape! I've never seen a Mantua F-unit adorned in Erie Lackawanna livery before -- is this somewhat rare?
I am considering the notion of not adding this loco to the roster of my HO-Scale layout, the Ephrata Valley Railroad (https://sites.google.com/site/ephratavalleyrailroad/home), due to the fact that there is some small paint flaking on the roof near the horns. But, the EL F7 is good in every other way....
So, I'd like to ask the opinion of members -- do you think I should add this locomotive to the roster of locos to operate on my layout, or not? If yes, I would appreciate a mere "Yes" in following posts , and if no, then "No." By doing so, I just want to see what everyone else thinks! *My makeshift poll*

I believe you are developing a fabulous collection of Tyco F's. I did not know, until you mentioned it, that the E-L was featured in Tyco. As you likely know, The E-L was germane to PA, and was a merger of two great Class One's that were pounded to death by the Interstate Highway System post WWII. "Yes" is my vote.

BTW, paint flakes on full-size locomotives, too.

That does it, Mike, I am moving back to Canada. I don't know where you find these things. If not for RP moving me along, I don't know where I'd be... CNJ is really branching out these days!

My loco of the week is the 1958 Gilbert 31013 Industrial Switcher shown with both the scarce black counterweight and the normal white counterweight. This is a one year only engine and is harder to find than the blue 31021 Industrial Switcher from 59/60.

Thanks Chops and scsshaggy for your input!! As a result, I definitely will add EL F7 #6314 to the locomotive roster of my HO-Scale "Ephrata Valley Railroad."

A magnificent, and unusual piece, it would be a shame not to. Glad she will live on on the EVRR!
