* Buss you are the MAN! That is a great train set to start week that leads into Christmas week. A Silver and Gold train set. When they sang about the Little Drummer Boy, this is one the lines. "A Child, A Child Shivers in the cold, let us give Him Silver and Gold". So very appropriate. So A Very Happy "RUM PUM PUM PUM " TO YOU BUSS.

My COTW is the Tyco Bubble Yum Flat Car that was not offered by Tyco at anytime. I just enjoy displaying them on a flat...

MY COTW is this Dow Chem tanker. Not sure who made it, I couldn't find any markings on it.

Finally set up with Imgur and back to a less stressful life, so I found a few minutes to share a COTW for the first time.

This is a Quality Craft wood craftsman kit for one of the B&O's 50' Canstock boxcars. These were unique in that they had their doors offset all the way to one end, both doors on the same end, and a transparent fiberglass roof panel on the opposite end to let light in so crews could see while unloading. They were used in dedicated service to haul rolls of raw tin-can material, and the design was to facilitate the loading of more rolls than would've been possible with center doors, without the expense and extra maintenance required from an All-Door car.

This particular kit came to me in a large stack of very interesting and mostly very old kits yesterday (I'll post about that tomorrow). I had never actually seen one of this kit before. It was assembled... badly. With gobs of walthers goo all over the coupler pockets and ladders. It is currently under the knife as I carve off all the extra glue and prepare to do a LOT of paint touching up, including painting the silver roof back to body-color blue, as these did have their roofs painted. New t/c will be in the form of Walthers cushion pockets (once I order more) and Athearn 100T roller bearing trucks to replace the Quality-Craft 70T sprung trucks it has.

Also, yardmaster54, your DOW chemical tanker is an Athearn blue box 42' Chemical tanker. Those are some of my favorite Athearn cars. If you ever should need ladders, handrails or hazard placards for Athearn tank cars, I found an old hobby shop's entire stock of envelopes of them (dozens of each) and am happy to share.

Thanks, Chops. A friend snagged that for me at the Great American Train Show. It needed some work and was missing a door, but it's all good now. These are very hard to find.

Last time I saw the AHM Domino's was back in 2000 at a train show,
and it was listed for $40 without box. Fairly rolled my socks down.

Wanting one badly, I found some LL knock offs and got them
for about $10 a whack.
