A NOS Life Like Dorrito car I picked up off eBay for $8, shipping included. Seen here jouncing along
on its maiden voyage as part of a 32 car billboard consist at the El Paso Model Train Club
November Open House. Funny how it goes- I've been searching for years for this piece,
and sometimes they are white hot and other times common as fleas. Same for the Sanka.
She rolled real nice, never gave me a minute of trouble, BTW.

My COTW offering is an Authenticast HO Side Dump car. I just noticed, after having seen them for years now, that the box seems to have a lot of Mantua HO products pictured on it.. I wonder why and if anyone here might know?

An image of one I found on line:

They are cool Connor. I probably have 4-5 of them in various states of condition tucked away somewhere. I also like the shorter Model Engineering Works (MEW) side dump cars. Have a couple of those too. They sell for crazy $$ when they are posted.

Model Engineering Works ho side dump car...

Here is a new car for me. A Red Ball Photographer Laboratory Car.
frank

Note: At the Allentown First Frost Train show the mixture of tables is mostly Lionel, S gauge, O Gauge, and tin Plate. Ho is next. I was looking around and there was a beat up Athearn box with this Red Ball car in it. I always wanted one and had to ask the price. The dealer said $10. I couldn't get out my 10 fast enough it seemed. I wasn't holding the car but left it on the table. And someone else was looking at it. Maybe it was just someone checking to see what I bought. As the dealer wrapped the car he said." I never liked those Athearn Cars. Too which I said nothing. As I was walking away. My friend Bob was explaining to the dealer that it wasn't an Athearn car, but a Red Bell one
I just keep on checking out the other trains.

My COTW contribution is a pair of Fire Fox fire train flats with trucks. I believe these were add-ons, they did't normally come with the 4-car set. Found these at my club member's HO table a few months ago when he was selling trains at a show.

Neat Doritos car, Chops! toptrain, I love that UP photography car, and those fire trucks on flatcars are AMAZING -- especially the Mack Pumper (the one in the rear)

Stay tuned for my COTW later this week!

My COTW offering:

The Jell-O box car gleams on the Ephrata Valley Railroad -- this was from a great trade with Microbusss!

Yes! I've seen a covered hopper like that before -- are they rare?

Well, actually, I never liked Tyco's billboard-like cars, but since becoming a member of the Tyco Forum, I've begun to not only see the value in them, but also grew to love some of them! The same can be said of Tyco trains in general, becoming a member of the TF REALLY opened my eyes.
