Jumped on this early also!
I NOW HAVE IT!!! This week, I bid on and successfully won a complete (as far as cars go) A-Team set, with all stickers it seems! That means, I now have the A-Team Shark! The locomotive is great both operationally and cosmetically!

Thanks Chops and microbusss! Actually, I'm in need of Mr. T, as well as the helicopter and van.

Not sure if the would go under accessory or locomotive, but it does have an engine. Here is a Tyco Broadway trolley.

Nice piece, Brian. Looks motive to me!
And another Tyco trolley. The yellow Emporium in the background is from a trade with RP. Photo at Tycomania VIII layout.

I once came across an A-Team Shark shell in a pickers-type shop. Just the shell. They wanted such a stupid high price for it, it left me with a Bad Attitude. I pity the fool who bought it.

Chops,
Nifty track for the trolley. Is this trolley specific track, or did you take regular track and cover up the rails so it looks like trolley track?

Yes, and no. The set came with four plastic corners, so the trolley strap hangers looked like egg beaters going around and around. I used Balsa wood painted gray on nine inch straights, the track ways sanded out. https://youtu.be/MYOm-JglIjA

Chops,
Thanks for the details and video. The on-board camera is neat - what a crash at the end!

An eclectic mix of motive power this week guys. For my very first LOTW post, I offer this little gem I picked up at a Halloween Flee Market this weekend. Needs a good cleaning inside and out plus a coupler. I haven't powered it up yet but it looks low mileage. Not bad for $5. Anyone have an idea as to the maker?

Gary,
Per the 1955 Tyco catalog, you may have a side tank loco.

I'll go with trolleys this week LCO.
HERE ARE TWO VERY HARD TO FIND TROLLEYS.
A Philadelphia Suburban Transit line and a Baltimore City Line.

On closer inspection it is a Life-like, Very tiny mark on front pilot along with 'Made in China' on the opposite side. I was looking for a Varney Dockside like my very first HO locomotive and I believe this is a later copy. My understanding is that Life-Like took over Varney.

This week, a Playart F7 is my contribution. Don't often see Playart engines, and this one was the first SP I've ever seen. Another club member tub rescue. :)

I had no idea Playart did anything in the American range. Very unique! BTW, not often do I get to do this, ahem...ISN'T THAT AN F9???
(Hint: look under the cab window. Frankly, I'm lucky to tell an F unit from a hole in the ground).

F9s also have a vent before the first porthole, which F7s lack.

Here's one that I recently resurrected. It's a Marx clockwork locomotive. I bought it for about $4 in a junk shop in Kooskia, ID. It came with the key, so that was worth the $4 in and of itself.
When I got home, I found that, with a little oiling, the clockwork motor, tired though it is, still had some life in it. A ltitle maintenance had it running laps on tubular rail once again. The plastic shell, however was broken. The mounting plate in the cab was missing, along with the tab-and-slot coupler, and the cylinders on the front (which is where the shell screws to the chassis) were snapped off. I got creative with some styrene and brass sheet, and got her back in service. I made a new styrene plate for the rear, and I designed and made a new mounting bar for the front out of brass, as well as a new tab coupler (no slot, too complicated).
She's not "original", nor is she restored to "like new", but she runs like she was built to. When I first got the motor to make a loop around the track, I wondered how long it had been since her last run.

Those playart F's are bad about cracking gears, and they have wide, flat wheels which can create some operating issues.

Terrific story of resurrecting what was once the greatest toy under the tree for some young guy. Clockwork is charming and iconic.
