Having some fun with this old AHM piece. An FP40H in UP colors, which I am told, never existed, strictly an Amtrak job. The caboose is from a trade with Time Warp. https://youtu.be/tG5xbcqtvdM

All of the former locomotives were awesome! I especially like the Union Pacific RR FP40H locomotive, even if it is fictional. :D
My LOTW offering is an A-B set of Pennsylvania RR Alco FA-2's, made by Model Power.

Lima FP45 Santa Fe 106.

I have added Kadee 147s in place of the European couplers, converted the front truck to all wheel pickup and raised the weight to 13oz.
Sadly, the 1:1 prototype of 106 (which was numbered 96 by then) was destroyed in a nasty accident in 1994.

Nice piece, Heihachi. Interesting back story. I recently acquired two very nice Fleischmann SF coaches and am trying to figure out how to replace the hook and loop couplers without making a mash of it.

Fleischmann might be a bit of a pain to convert, some of them have the couplers riveted to the trucks, but I think they can be removed from the truck itself without having to break anything (at least with the freight trucks - the trucks are plastic whereas the couplers and draft gear are metal). I converted two Fleischmann freight cars to Kadees but I simply body mounted them.
My FP45 normally pulls a set of silver Athearn ATSF passenger cars (sometimes with a few Australian Lima "Indian Pacific" style cars which are of a similar design). In typical Lima fashion the couplers are truck mounted so there is no trouble with running this loco on 18" curves or tight switches (Lima included some very sharp 360mm curves in their train sets). The pilot is also molded as part of the truck, with the coupler box being designed to fit either Tyco-style (e.g. not Athearn-style) horn hooks or Lima couplers, shoehorning Kadee draft gear boxes (whisker type) in there required a bit of surgery to both the trucks and the draft gear boxes.
I believe the model is 1970s-era and it is carrying the original ATSF livery the prototype was issued with.
The prototype can be found here: http://atsf.railfan.net/atsfpres/atsf96.html
I will also add, this loco was found on eBay as an "HO collector's train" for a few bucks as not working. When I first put power to it, nothing happened whatsoever and I expected this was going to be a shelf queen or a source of spare parts for an Australian Lima loco. When I took the body off and found one loose wire and a cold solder joint on the other wire, I couldn't get out the soldering iron quick enough!
