Hello all! Just wanted to take a brief moment to introduce myself to this forum. I have always loved trains and can fondly remember the N-Scale trains which traveled beneath the family Christmas tree each year (and continue to do so.) Being an avid model railroader, I currently have built two layouts: the one is a 100% complete N-Scale model of the famous Horseshoe Curve in Altoona, PA, appropriately named "The Horseshoe Curve Branch Line" - the other is an HO-Scale freelanced 4' x 4' layout set in the Autumn season, entitled the "Ephrata Valley Railroad." In addition, I have created two individual websites for my layouts, the url's of which I am sharing for all to enjoy- Horseshoe Curve Branch Line (http://rputnick777.wixsite.com/horseshoecurveline), & Ephrata Valley Railroad (https://sites.google.com/site/ephratavalleyrailroad/home). Furthermore, I am a member of the Philly division of the National Model Railroad Association and have the privilege of sharing my layouts on the division's webpage.

Although N-Scale was my first and favorite scale, HO-Scale has since replaced that role (with N-Scale now classified as "close second" ) I have locomotives from various manufacturers (Tyco, LifeLike, Bachmann and Model Power) which operate regularly on my freelanced Ephrata Valley Railroad layout, but I must state that Tyco is my favorite in regards to unique styling/longevity.

Closing here, I hope to post whenever convenient and look forward to a great relationship in utilizing this forum.

Stay tuned for posts in the near future documenting my Tyco locomotives.

You have two nicely done layouts, Robert, I visited both websites. I'm surprised more people don't do autumn or winter layouts, almost everyone does "green" ones, and it's a nice change to see someone do scenery other than a Spring/Summer theme. speaking of that, I'm putting the finishing touches on an N gauge "suitcase" layout that has spring on one side, and winter on the other. Just a simple transportable track loop that can be carried and used in a vehicle for some remote fun. Also doing a Z gauge one with all 4 seaons, but I've hidden that "suitcase" somewhere so haven't worked on it until I can find it in my house again. sigh. Anyway, nicely done, hope to see you post more on your Tyco HO equipment soon.

Thanks. Your N-Scale suitcase layout featuring the spring and winter seasons sounds awesome! Good luck on completing your Z-scale suitcase layout with all four seasons, which sounds both unique and Great!

Welcome to the Madhouse!

Awesome layouts! I love the simplicity of the PRR layout plan. Great design. The Ephrata Valley is on my new favourite sized layout. I think 4X4's have alot of potential.

I love the track plan. Simple but effective. Some great scenery there too.

Look forward to seeing more!

Welcome Robert,

I really enjoy your HO layout. I built my sons a 4x4 when they were young back in the 1980's. They have grown and neither are active model railroaders presently, but parts of that layout are currently incorporated in my home layout. I'm really impressed your work on the Tyco shark nose.I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work, welcome to the club.

I enjoyed looking at the Horseshoe Curve layout Robert. Very original and provoking realism with those well groomed tracks running through dense forest. Pretty cool set-up to be accomplished in 5 X 8. Look forward to seeing more of your stuff as time goes by. Barry

Remarkable endeavor, that Horse Shoe curve. I particularly liked the
S curves visible to the left, those will show your trains in a dynamic
fashion. I still fail to see how people use Styrofoam base, which
you did rather well. Getting stuff to stick to it, fastening it to the
bench work, the issue of sagging, all of this you seemed to have
leap frogged past.

Thanks, Chops, for your comments about the Horseshoe Curve Branch Line! It did take a lot of work, but it was well worth it.

Thank you as well Justin!

OH man! I didn't even see these posts until today - so sorry :(

Thank you very much, Frank, for your comments regarding my layouts!! I truly appreciate it.

Hey Mustangs_n_Trains! I live in Montgomery County, PA, which is like 20 miles outside of Philly. I actually don't watch sports....but I crave the Tyco Bethelehem Steel hopper car.
