This is one of my two "unique" ALCO C630 models (follow the blog link, to find out why!). This one's here, because I was actually surprised by the "Power-Torque" motors- of which TWO were placed in by an intrepid modeler. The Question now is, where do I get some "Proper" ALCO sideframes to attach to this locomotive's power trucks? (I can't stand those "Vampire Trucks" and they keep falling off!) Any Suggestions? -

So, can anybody suggest a good sideframe swap for this model?

Nothing really out there, the axle spacing is to tight. Alco had either tri mounts with the offset axle spacing, or Hi Ads trucks with big outboard spring assemblies. Look at the Bowser line for those HiAd side frames. You will have to engineer your own mounts as they are all mostly made in delrin plastic which will not take being glued(wont stick) so driling and using some small screws will be necessary. Mike
Still NT's, I have Aspergers.

Trainguru,
What a great idea! I had started to put 2 mu2 motors in a GP20 but it got stalled.
Keep up the good work.

I would like to see some pictures of this model disassembled. How was the rear truck attached to the shell? Obviously you couldn't use the original gimbal mounting bracket due to space restrictions inside the narrow shell.
