A month or two ago I posted an auction in the ebay sightings section. The auction was for a full Mask set. I remember that no one really knew much about it. I managed to pick up a Mask engine off ebay and I thought I'd share this little bit of info with everybody.
Tyco's *Mask* and *Transformers* trains sets are actually very close relatives. My Mask engine doesn't have the guns or decals, but looking at these pics its easy to see the relationship... This is my Mask engine. It is cherry red and molded in colour. Notice that there is no way for the guns to attach. Now look at this picture... And finally this picture that I saved from an old ebay auction... Tyco used the same piece mounted to the hood of the switchers to attach the guns on the Mask engine, and the panel cover and dish on the Transformers engine. Also note that both sets had gondolas with canons that rise out.
Not sure how many of you knew this already. It does mention the similarity on Tony's site, but I thought I'd share some pics.
