My LOTW is this Coca Cola bullet train loco that I picked up for $2 at auction. It's in rough shape and is missing the motor, but I still like the Santa Fe inspired livery.

Like that Playart Coke engine, I have two different ones, but not the Coke special, that one sells high on Ebay. Also, that 3-piece set came as a powered engine, passenger car, and non-powered trailing engine, so you probably have the trailing engine.

Also like that GG1 set, nice!

My contribution is this nice little Plymouth switcher in Penn Central paint. Don't see this one too often.

** At Allentown this weekend I found this badly painted Fleischmann 4-6-0. A newer type of Fleischmann with a tender drive with traction tires, and a sprung draw bar like Liliput 4-6-0's have. There is no number of any kind on it . Maybe painter over. It appears to have been painted with a water based flat colors. The paint might be removable . I haven't tested it yet as I would like to do that after the main body parts are removed for cleaning. I have to say the only reason I bought it was the price and the terrific details. At $18. I didn't think twice. I wonder when it was made. This may be a job for Erick. I just hope it runs. The flat colors seem to make photos of it difficult.

Not sure if I shared this one already.. This is a pretty rare find. I have seen quite a few in brass, but this is my first ever in aluminum... Varney Yellowstone 2-8-8-4 Cast Aluminum Boiler Steam Locomotive - HO Scale

It is considerably lighter than the brass version. I realized it as soon as I picked it up for the first time there was something different about it. The dude used 2x Mantua Mikado chassis for it too.

Thanks Ken ! With this one I have I cant tell which one that Fleischmann produced should be the number of mine. I guess I'll just stick to B38 class. It does run fine just the unpowered drivers on straight track do not turn on some of my curved track. I have lubercated the axels, piston parts that slide. All places where the main and side rods connect to the drivers. The valve gear also. I checked with my track gauge the spacing of the drivers and other wheels and they are OK. I had this happen before and sometimes all that it may need to just to run around the track for awhile. ( I hope )
* Back to train stuff. I'll post here a photos of the drive, and see how it matches up to your posting.

Oh, Fleischmann! I bought an old early 60's Fleischmann FA 1341S with 3 matching coaches at a train show two days ago... It, along with the Fleischmann double decker coaches, came with their boxes and they were all in excellent condition. All I had to do to get the engine running practically spotless was clean the wheels. I got the entire set for $40.... I'll try to post pictures when I get home.Oh, and those engines typically have date codes on the bottom.... and from what I can tell, the locomotive and coaches were made in 1960, based on the code.

I still have 2 remaining problems. One is getting the remaining paint off of the body without causing more detail parts to fall off. I have already lost the bell behind the stack, and a inspection hole cover in the firebox side. Both are missing. Most likely went down the drain. Last the piping of left side bottom, the three pipes that are seen underneath the cab which should somehow in real life connect to the tender is laying on my work bench table top, and I am not done yet removing the paint. The other is what kind of a paint scheme will I do. In the pictures you sent of the N gauge B38s, some green and black schemes looked good. The tender is about all cleaned up. The boiler is still giving me problems as I have noted.

I know we're veering off into SOTW territory here, but I have been mystified as to the origin of this set, below. Is it Play Art or Lima??? I am baffled as to its manufacture. But then, it doesn't take much to baffle me:

the caboose with its side rods baffled, the coke car I am
clueless, Sprite looked like a Bachmann, etc. etc.
