Not sure if you're heard about it, but there's a new magazine out that caters to people like us, concerned with past HO rolling stock and motive power. The first issue had a great article on how to repower a Tyco C430 I think it was with a Bowser Chassis. Only a few trims to the Tyco body were necessary to make it fit. Pretty sweat! I may have to see how much (gulp!) one of those chassis's costs. Probably not cheap. But it WOULD be cool to have a Tyco shell on a modern, layout-runnable chassis. Just thought I'd give you folks a heads up on this new magazine.

I think you have ENOUGH issues already! Besides, this is the FIRST issue, it's the first, so there's only ONE so far.

I subscribed and got the first issue last week. I think it's going to be a great magazine. They did an article on all the Railbox models ever made and they discussed the Tyco variations (with photos). Also a great article on Lindberg HO trains.

The new issue is out, and there is 12 pages on the AHM Rivarossi Krauss Maffei ML-4000 engine. Not bad! I haven't read it yet, but I bought the magazine. Since I have a few of those engines myself.

Since it's a specialty magazine, not sure how wide it will be distributed. My local Train Shop is carrying it, reason I was able to get the first two issues so far. Since it's pricey, not sure how well it will be sent out to local rag outlets, you'll have to shop around I guess to find it.

Hey, the magazine comes out of here in Missouri! Right now as in today, at our little club here in Boonville the club is auctioning off some HO train supplies from a Vietnam Veteran member who this winter committed suicide rather than suffer continuing disintegration of his health. Proceeds from sales go to his widow. I know what the loco is yet have no need for it; nor any more spending money. Even though it would be fun to paint it for one of my freelance lines. And it appears no other members have been interested in it, so ...

Jerry, I've done a few Sharks on Athearn F7 chassis, and a couple of Alco 430s on Athearn U30B chassis. A little trimming/shaving required but fairly simple. A bit cheaper than acquiring Bowser drives!
