While helping my club set up for the show this weekend, I wandered around checking for train stuff at vendors. I even managed to scarf up a deal at one vendor already! Bought a Hershey's tanker and a set of Oscar / Piker Walthers cars ( for Justin ).

At some other vendors I checked out the Tyco stuff, and noticed some interesting cars. One is a Red Box lighted caboose, BUT....the chassis is plastic! There's no bulb in a hole in the middle, either. I've never seen a lighted Tyco caboose like it. I am planning to buy it tomorrow. At another vendor, from whom I'll be buying quite a bit I think , I found a Tyco F7 B unit, but it's actually powered. How rare are powered B units by Tyco? Penn Central body. This particular vendor has very reasonable prices overall, I've bought from him before, and he has a TON of HO and O gauge stuff this time as well. Saw some blue roofed Bicentennial cars. Didn't see any all red Bi-cent car though. But I didn't look through all the flats, either. I did spot a white CP boxcar, I know that is uncommon, too. I'll be pickin' through his stash tomorrow for sure. .

Far as the show goes, it's a smaller one, Greenberg. But I see plenty to spend money on already! I am taking quite a few sets of trains to run, too - Western Maryland, Purina, early Auto Train, N&W passenger, my Helium cars, Hershey engine and Candy consist....and the awesome TYCO TURBO TRAIN, decodered and ready to fly! Not sure how many of them I will run, hopefully the newer ones first. I scrounged up 5 more cars for the N&W set with J #613, so I will have 8 passenger cars to pull instead of a measly 3 like the last few times. Cleaning up has it's benefits at my house, I'm finding my scattered projects and rolling stock, and getting them together in one place finally. Yay!

I need to get up early to help finish setting up the club's layout for the show ( and maybe get some early deals before they let the public in! Heh heh! ). Scoring that Piker-Oscar pair was nice ( for Justin ). Can't wait to see what I find tomorrow. I loved scouting the vendors early tonight, so I know where to head off the bat. Luckily the one vendor with the powered B unit isn't far from the club layout, so I can scoot over there easily. I'll post my finds and buys after this weekend. I'm sure i'll have more than a few.

Had a FAN-TASTIC day at the show. Some of my equipment didn't run well, but other did. And I spent some coin at that vendor I mentioned. Here's some pics of my overall haul, I'll post some specifics later. I gotta get to my train shop job before I'm late!

A powered Tyco B. Never heard of such a thing. A DYI project, maybe?
Did you nab the white CP box car? Nobody say anything about that to

They made them early in the RB era, before replacing them with dummies. They're very rare!

Ok , a few close-up pictures of the some of the stuff. :)

First, the caboose.

Like I said, I've never seen a lighted caboose with a plastic base before from Tyco. We tested it at the train shop, and it still works. All the ones I own have the metal Mantua base and the light bulb socket in the middle through a hole. This one is just so unusual to find. Had to get it. :)

Next up, the powered Penn Central B unit. Runs great! Tested it at the shop as well Saturday. I now have my first A-B-B-A set of diesels, and they're all Penn Central. For some reason, I have fallen for the PC bug the last year or so. I do like the color, aqua is one of my favorite shades of the rainbow.

Next up, the Mantua B shark, again, it's powered. Ran smoothly on the test track as well. This vendor was amazing.

This should work well with my Tyco metal sharks.

I'll have to take pictures of the rest of the cars individually, I haven't done that yet.

Actually PC green is "Jade" not "aqua green".
