Roast beef, Yorkshire Pudding, and peas are on the menu today. As a child, I rode in a dining coach such as this, watching the verdant hills of Devon roll past. For thrills I would venture into the vestibule and stand on the foot plates inhaling the grease and feeling the thunder of wheel on jointed rail. That was "living in tall cotton." The item was reasonably priced, the shipping out of Canada was about like paying ransom to Iran.

Chops, that dining car looks well appointed on the inside, and your description is making me hungry!
My COTW just came in the mail. It's a wooden baggage car. I have no idea if it is scratchbuilt or was built from a kit. I like the finish though, especially the roof. The Redwoods and Pacific RR was searching for a baggage car for a while and is pleased to add it to the fleet, even though it has seen some miles.

That is a lovely baggage car. Is it going to be for checked baggage, or for storage mail?

This weekend I got a Palace Poultry Car again. I wouldn't have done it but for the cars size. It is smaller then the other Poultry cars that were made. It would fit well on a layout on 1855 through 1880 when cars of this size were the norm. The size in height can be seen and compared the Varney 40' Great Northern box car to its right. I don't know when or who produced the kit for this car. It look pretty good to me. * I wonder if it is either a narrow gague car or one made for the TT gauge. frank

I've never heard of Texas and Red River either. It might be freelance.
Here's a pair of cars that I posted a few years ago that are also probably freelance. The cars are made of wood with cardboard sides. And the sides are hand lettered. Amazing workmanship on the lettering.

Here, I'll jump on the train too. Here are two MofW bunk cars lettered for the "Bedrock & Bedlam"

I have a third that's lost it's trucks, couplers, and decals and will become a yard office somewhere on my layout. The second one is missing decals on the other side, and will be tucked in the scrapyard or on my deadline.

My COTW... a Varney Ohio Seamless Tube Division gondola... This one is not damaged, although it is missing the trucks,an chassis weight, it has all the stirrup steps and the paint is great. It did not come from the factory with the end beam. Either way, I am happy with it's addition to my OSTD gondola fleet. I have a couple that came with the end beam delete option. Think I may add them at a later date.

There are two proofs that the egg came first: 1) You have eggs for breakfast and chicken for lunch. Breakfast is before lunch. 2) When originally proposed, what we now call the Big Bang Theory (of the very origin of The Universe) was originally called the Hypothesis of the Cosmic Egg.
Why did the chicken cross the road? To show the raccoons it can be done (armadillos in Texas).
