Love it. The RS11 is one of my favorite prototypes.

My Walthers MainLine Amtrak F40PH, now DCC-equipped!
I initially attempted to install BlueRain Trains's Bluetooth decoder into the locomotive, but it didn't operate correctly due to the way the locomotive was wired (I may save it for an Athearn locomotive them.) So I got another TCS T1A decoder, plugged it into the locomotive's 9-pin plug, and that got it going. I had to fix the direction with the decoder first, but now things are fine. Of course, some of you who know me really well know how nostalgic I am over Amtrak F40PH locomotives, especially in the "Phase III" paint scheme.

Ridden behind that F40 on that kind of coach. One sweet ride. Like your layout, too. Looks like a lot of classic buildings.

I've had this Mantua Heavy Mikado for some time, but just finished it today. I'd held off on its identity for a while and finally gave it reporting marks from my coal hauling branch line, the Diggin Hill and Batey Hollow.
I've added some detail changes like a nicer bell, better looking handrail stanchions, boiler bands, a head end throttle linkage, real coal in the tender and more details on the pilot.
I like how it looks and performs hauling a train load of coal to the interchange spur in Batey Hollow.

A very cool loco Sean !
Now this is a loco with charisma. Camelbacks, Mother Hubbard's or whatever they are called when seen for the first time could confuse the viewer. I guess the most common feeling is " What the heck is it ?" "Is it broken ?" " Will the cab be put back where it belongs ?" Definitely a different type of railroad creature ! frank

Heh, you reminded me of a customer comment I read in a Mantua catalog someone posted here, someone saying that they should be called camels and saying they were going to stand outside Alfred Kalmbach's window and yell about it

The comment is made funnier still by the conflation of Alfred Kalmbach the architect and Albert Kalmbach the publisher.

Still, you have to enjoy the mental image of an architect sitting in his office with someone outside yelling at him about camelback locomotives.
