My White Elephant. I bid it up a dollar, just so I could track it. I was idly
curious what something like this would sell for at auction. I swear I was
immediately auto-out-bidded, but to my surprise I was awarded the auction
three days later, after I'd forgotten all about it. My first thought is to try to
trade up, or flip it for a small profit, but the Slippery Slope Syndrome is
taking hold and the more I look at it, the more I like its total weirdness.
Starting to think it might look fun around the Christmas tree...

Well, I actually paid $50 for it. I saw this in a TF post, got curious, bid
a $1 on it just to see where it would land. Well it landed on my lap
is where it landed!

The GP 38 looks like LL, the tank car is pure Tyco with its 3 axle trucks,
and what in the world is the caboose, what with those trusses??

I probably will follow BNSF's suggestion, and embrace the slope, even
though I hardly need another train. I mean, like, Cherry Coke-
that's just outrageous!

As a-what-the-heck gesture I tossed it up on the local Craiglist at the
I-don't-want-to-sell-it price of $300. Who knows, some of these Coke
collectors are pretty rabid...

I'm going to box up and send out those box cars today, Micro.

From the rest of the pictures on the posting, it looks to be in A+ condition, no dirt on the bottom and all the wheels are shiny.
I was reading an article in an old issue of Canadian Railway Modeller about detailing a model to represent a CN NW1 switcher. Later I saw this set, the same model as in the article. On a whim I threw in a bid and won.

This was state of the art back in the day. And HO was still just a bit unusual. Still state of the art to my
eyes. Classic beauty never changes.

Maybe I should repaint this Express Limited in PC, right down to a corporate PC helicopter......
no, no, no- just kidding.
