Nelson These are the chassis I mentioned earlier. From left to right: BL2 5-pole x 1 Loose motor 5-pole x 1 FM chassis 5-pole x 3 FM chassis 3-pole x 1 I considered keeping the BL2, but I have so many projects on the go, I'll never get to it. And it DOES look like brain surgery, only with little marbles. You're welcome to the whole pile, including the BL2 shell.
Okay, my comp. is not letting me load that picture. Grrr. This is the original pic. from last May. Disregard the two Mehano F-unit chassis, and the MP as well.

I've heard that the AHM BL2 had a bad split gear problem. If Nelson doesn't want that pile, PM me. I've always wanted a BL2, but hesitated because of gear issue. I'd turn that SV into a B&M in a New York minute. Nice pile!

The split gear problem is on the later re-designed Life-like chassis, NOT the original AHM like this one is. Having a 5-pole motor is also good, the later early ( oxy-moronic? ) AHM units had 3-pole motors, not nearly as good. So the gear problem is not on this early unit.

Thanks for the 411. How does one identify the older AHM from an ebay picture?

A couple of things. The older AHM bodies have two square holes for mounting pegs at the bottom of curved gas tank cover, one on each end on both sides, the newer LifeLike has a single round hole near the middle. Also the AHM body has two slot cut-outs along the bottom, the LL has none. On the chassis, the AHM has formed metal axle covers with screws at each end, the LL doesn't have a full cover over the axles like that. Those are the easiest spotting traits to see.
