Having been side tracked (excuse the pun) by the Slippery Slope of Tycomania,
I am turning my attention back to my first love: British OO. Started by peeling back
the dust cover and working a little on the main lines.

Tycomania is slippery, that is for sure. Isn't OO exactly the same as HO or is a little larger?

HO is 1/87, while OO is 1/76. This is also why, despite the common scale being 1/72 in modelling, you'll see many Airfix kits in 1/76, as they were originally made to work with the common OO layout. Adding to the confusion, some older kits are marked as "HO/OO Scale", despite being OO.

I love the track layout Chops. That diamond is a nifty feature.

Thanks, Dan. Some early shots of developing the track plan. The basic premise
is two circuits, to diamonds, two trains run in opposite directions.
Two operators. Basic time table. Go. But in order to get from point A to B, the
trains intersect on two diamonds so one has to pay attention and yield right of
way. Typically passenger has rights over goods (freight), but sometimes, like
in life, compromise must happen.

I intend to add in DCC once the track is perfected, so as to run four trains with three operators.

Yes, it's quite fun, but if one doesn't pay attention...
