Let's start the new week off a few hours early. Since interest was high on my ceramic HoJo here's the same makers Texaco across the street. Since it faces towards the back of the layout it's hard to get a good picture of the front details.

| That's pretty interesting Gary, that those are made of ceramic. What is the name of the company that does that?

A number of years ago now, Lefton a company that makes ceramic collectables got the idea of making collectable buildings. I guess they figured HO was a suitable size. They didn't market them to the model railroad community and at the time were way too high priced. Well I guess the idea didn't pan out for them and I found a bunch at very low prices and that's why I have eight of them. The a Seattle fire house, The Ho Jo, The Texaco Station, a diner, the Gettysburg train station and three office buildings that were meant to hang on the wall. There was an entire series of each type plus roadside attractions and wall hanging Victorian houses. The roadside ones appear to be the ones Bachmann recently released in resin. Yes that is the robot from 'The Day the Earth Stood Still. A little large for a Muffler Man, but for a buck key chain I'll take it.

Wicked nice Texaco station. The statue of the service guy on top is like the cherry on top. My BOTW is a dairy farm, scratch built by the late, great "Doc" Harrison at the El Paso Model Train Club. The roof comes off and inside are cows in milking stalls. Doc was a large animal vetinarian, and a life long modeler.
