I found out RedneckJustin was in Richmond Saturday as I was heading down there, and was able to meet him finally. Good to meet someone from the TycoForum, finally! I showed him the sights in Richmond, I have more on my camera which I haven't uploaded yet, these are just a few from my Cellphone camera. Just a taste of what is to come. :) Enjoy!

Jerry

It's the infamous triple crossing

Actually, this is further down from the crossing, about 1/3 of a mile. I will post those pictures later. We managed to hit the crossing with two trains on it ! The ground level is Norfolk Southern, and it leads to an inactive storage yard now, so not much traffic to it anymore. We weren't going to get THAT lucky! Oh well. Two out of 3 ain't bad!

Ok, I uploaded the "real" camera photos, so here's a few more for ya.

Above, the SAL museum in south Richmond, VA

Above, Justin at the museum

Above, the O-4-O at the museum

Above, Triple crossing viewed from the north side.

Above, Triple crossing as viewed from the south side. We caught TWO trains! Yay!

Above, you can just make out a third train underneath the other one on the old SAL tracks going to the downtown train station.

Above, looking through the "new" floodwall at the old Southern small classification yard, now a mostly-unused Norfolk Southern storage yard.

Above, Jewish Holocaust Museum in downtown Richmond, with a reproduction ( I think ) type car that the jews were loaded into. Not sure on that. My aunt owned a farm called Hyde Park in Nottoway county that took in nearly 200 Polish farmers just before Hitler sealed off Poland, there is a room in the museum dedicated to that resettlement farm. I have yet to go see it, I visited that farm regularly for 7-8 years. Lots of history there.

Anyway, a few more Richmond, VA railfanning photos for you to enjoy.
