My COTW is a twofer this week:
 They're a pair of Roundhouse Overland passenger cars, dating back to Christmas of 1971. They came as kits, assembled by juvenile hands, so there was stray glue along with some other cosmetic flaws. Also, they were not good reliable runners. More lately, they've been cleaned up and tuned better to not derail so eagerly. Finally, I just repainted them to a simple, typical coach green color, which is more sedate than the yellow I had them before. They seem a more credible length than the shortys I've been using. Here they are in a train:

Very nice Don. I have the same thoughts about the length of those "shorty" cars; they look interesting, but you don't see many old photos of trains with those short cars. I do like the way you've got that box car in there.

My COTW is a Life-Like circus car with two Lion carriages. With a few more acquisitions, I should have a decent LL circus train in the works. :)
