We've talked about the old American, Train & Track cars from time to time here, this week I picked up three of the Triang-made passenger cars and was surprised that they were kinda cool and thought I'd share some pics.

My set are actually from a Model Power offering, that I'd guess was early 1970s perhaps...

I got a Combine...here's both sides of it...

the Diner...

I highlighted the truck area to show the talgo trucks, that oddly also include the steps as part of the casting.

And the Dome-Obs...

Notice what looks like the Canadian Pacific herald cast into the back door, this is also found on the other cars in the winow sections.

Here's another look at the trucks...

The BURLINGTON name is embossed into car sides. The plates below the window sections are foil bands attached to the cars...

Pretty Cool. And I guess the snuck by many, due to being Model Power, as I got the set of three for $9 and shipping. Believe the ATT versions sell for a bit more dough usually.

Hey Tony. Those look great. I've got a Tri-ang baggage and diner, but the previous owner repainted them from CN to having no road name and a light blue stripe, and added kadee couplers[:(].

Yours dont have lighting on the inside do they? I can tell from the pic of the truck that its not wired, but I opened mine up a few months ago and discovered that there was a light and wires. I'm guessing it was also the previous owner's doing.

BTW- you don't have any catolog pics of these cars do you?

Wow... those interiors are pretty cool. That combine still looks odd to me though... they must have enacted "airline carry-on" rules given that door size [:P]

I also noticed some "PMI" branding on the boxes...

looks like a Canadian Pacific shield on all the cars...
You could almost call the combine a dorm car...
I'm also impressed by the interiors in the diner...
PMI... Pocher Mfg Import... no?
Quite outstanding details considering when it was made.

John

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out.
"I love your catenary!"
Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?
