I finally found an Aluminum paint that will work....
I actually use that can to apply it instead of my airbrush. The paint dries in 15 minutes.
Within 24hrs, one can use the blue 3M painters tape on it, without pulling off the paint and ruining the finish on the shell.
The E8 is a NJ Transit one is an Life-Like engine I got for $10 recently. More to come on tthat when I am finished re-painting it.....

I think the blue masking tape has the weakest grip. I use it inside the house when doing a wall paint , etc...

The green painters tape is the strongest iirc. That metallic finish looks really good so far. The finished unit should look great!
