FINALLY, I can claim this one as my own! Just paid off the estate lot I bought, this old Mantua 2-6-6-2 was one of the ones I snagged. One of my biggest, if not THE biggest, that I own now.

Wow, very good find. I would love to have one of these Mantua logging locos at some point.

That is the bomb! Here's my oddball. Picked it up from selling Estate Sale stuffs. The uglier they are, the cuter they are.

This bad boy came to me as new old stock with cracked axles. Those have since been replaced with new athearn gears and I also added a digitrax decoder and led lighting. This is it during the teast run. I plan to add the included details and that should make it ready for service on the line.

Finally, I got a box of locos to service for the LHS. Tri-Ang 2-6-2T BR 82004 Not too noisy. Just kidding. This has such oversized flanges, it rides the ties

Really like that switcher, chops! That one even has the tender booster, not too common from what I understand.

Thanks Dasturner, yes, it was a lucky find, and NOS at that. I really need to get busy putting some miles on it.
PGE33, I just love that chunky old Triang. I dabble in OO, and found quickly that HO track will not well tolerate those really big flanges.

Evan, Jeff, I run all my English , Triang, Hornby, and whatever the others are on my code 100 mostly Atlas layout. Only the real old Triang flanges hit the ties. Those on the EMD double ender, And the F type passenger diesel. There is something that resembles a RS3 with the big flanges. All the others including my Triang Princess's run fine. I don't have a 2-6-2 tanker. frank

I learned pretty quick that Atlas crossings and turnouts did not mix well with OO, even the finer scale Bachmann. For straight and curves, I can generally get buy with some fitter pieces.

Frank, I was lucky enough to find some other axles for my double-ender. It was just too annoying to run before that. Now it's a sweet runner. Evan
Evan, here is what I did with one of mine. frank

It's really nice seeing these OO pieces. Motivates me to get back to working on my OO layout. If no one minds, here's my little double ender. I swapped a Johnson Wax for it. This one is a Playcraft, made by the French manufacturer Joeuf. It has a sturdy motor and transmission, I really enjoy it. D6100 is its classification.
