Creaking out the train crib this week is a somewhat abused Varney diesel switcher. All metal, the chassis is bent down near the cab. Not sure if I can restretch it back into shape or not. I think this is my first metal Varney switcher, found at a local train shop last month. Haven't tried it yet.

Alco Models E44. Later on, it'll get Bowser C628 trucks, motor and drive line.

Not really a locomotive but this seems like the most suitable OTW. My latest traction acquisition, a Pennsylvania Scale Models PCC car.

Cheez, are you going to repaint that or leave it as is? Seems odd to have power tool ads on a trolley!

I'm going to leave it as is. There are several other ads on it as well.

Careful, Jerry, it's likely zinc pest...look for crystalline type cracking before you try bending it...it will shatter like glass...
There is hope...just be careful...

A CNJ shell rescued from the discard bin, then a matching AHM chassis off Ebay. Only two axle power, but she pulls surprisingly well.

The Los Angeles Junction Railway was owned by the ATSF and currently part of the BNSF so not necessarily an ex ATSF.
