Another of my F7 Tyco engines, this PC is untested at the moment, I hope to make up an A-B-A consist someday,I think I have enough PC Tycos now, even the B, to do it. Would be fun to run that at a show. :) Anyway, nother project to work on, I"m sure.

I like those Penn Central F units. My loco of the week is an AHM Alco 1000. It was the first loco I ever upgraded with a can motor, more than 30 years ago. Still runs like a champ. I recently added DCC and lamps at both ends.

My LOTW.. a recent addition to my collection. A HOn3 Scale Brass Kemtron 0-4-0 Teakettle. Purchased along with a complete Bowser K11 chassis for $48 inc s/h. Sold the chassis and this loco was basically free. It came with the tender, but was missing the cab. I happened to have the cab in my stash of parts. This engine could either be built with the tender or use the coal bunker I also have pictured here. I have both, but the tender needs some work, so I have not decided which to use yet.

Here is a photo I found on line of a built up one with the tender:

Nice locomotive Sean. I like the way the motor seems to be enclosed in the firebox, though I'm wondering if it runs hot with that?

A real nice piece, Ray, and an impressive layout.
There is a story, told by a friend I will remain anonymous, that at the head end of a particular Class One railroad had an old DRGW that was involved in a tragic collision at a unmarked rural crossing.
Story goes, that while no fault of the railroad or crew, the locomotive, which was ready for scrap, lacked any brake shoes and was just being used as spare power (had dynamics).
It was sold post haste to the N de M shortly thereafter for $1 to get it away from being examined more closely vis-Ã -vis the unfortunate accident.
Might just well be railroader gossip, but that is the story.
