Just finished getting my Aerotrain running! I think it's turning out very nicely.

Glad you had success finding a cheap truck to pick up power and all. Can you PM me a link to the listing?

is that a new motor and truck in the existing frame? I have a Varney Aerotrain I just picked up , the frame looks nothing like that. Wouldn't mind a repower myself, but for now, I can live with the original, it at least does run some. Does Bowser sell the whole new frame with motor and truck, too?

The frame is the one made by Bowser, and I just did a tiny bit of cutting, filing and drilling to make the truck fit. They never sold a powered version. They stopped making these a few years ago, but maybe they have some leftover parts in stock (you'll have to contact them).

At one time, I think it was Accurate Lighting made a replacement frame specifically for motorizing these. It would use the motor, flywheels, front truck and universal from an Athearn SW chassis.

Here's what that motorizing unit looks like (I also forget who made it). I used to have an Athearn SW truck in place but I needed it for another project, so my Aerotrain is still waiting in the shop for a truck.
