I got an HO set from the thrift store about 5 weeks ago and got it to work. If it did not work, I only spent a bit less than 4 bucks for it. I started with 4 x 4 table so that I could at least run them. I got a fancy for a trestle and from the 21st to 30th I built a 3 foot wide trestle and the plans started forming in my mind for what I want to see when it is done. I think the drawings and photos pretty much display my desires. A fast moving stream will go beneath the trestle coming from a waterfall off a high forested mountain. The track will go into a tunnel and around the back and out another tunnel, into a small hill and out another tunnel. the tables will be 4 x 10 when finished.

Wow!!! Now, are those two separate ovals, or does the inner loop connect up to
the outer?

Two ovals, one going the full length of the ten foot table, I have two engines, two controllers and two sets of track, one is EZ track, I have about 25 to 30 feet of each, but only have switches for the old brass track and have not figured what to do with them yet. I have a third controller that I got with a box of engines needing major repair and about 17 cars of which I added nine to the functioning lot. I got five non functioning engines and 17 cars for $30, got the EZ track, one car and a controller for 99¢ and the tyco set with two engines and about 30 feet of brass track and a few extras for $3.95. All the wood and peg board was free. I just got a roll of plaster cloth from the thrift store for $1.99 and a few weeks ago a bag of greenery for making trees or landscapes, even say for model rail roads. I never know what the ladies at the thrift store have saved for me. I have shown them the trestle in person, since they started me on this journey with the HO set I got on March 26th.

I can't wait to see the mountain scenery with the waterfall. I've always had a weakness for them.
Really nice layout you've designed there.

as a joke put 1 or 2 wrecked cars at the bottom of the trestle
Like use a couple cars that are junk

that Salt Lake cutoff that the SP now UP uses?
the one that runs ON the Salt Lake?

well SP was going to sink (remember that word SINK)
a few old cars as a barrier around that track
well guess what? they FLOATED after being put in there
too much salt in that lake
