Hi there. This is my second post to what I think is a great forum.
My name is Stan and I'm kind of getting back into trains after an extended period away from model railroading. I just came across this place and I'm amazed how nice everyone is to each other. I'm a non-posting member on a few other forums and it really ticks me off that a majority of people on those other forums have that rivet counting "Close Enough = Not Good Enough" attitude.
As for my interest in Tyco - I was a really spoiled kid with a couple of hobby shops within walking or bus distance from my grandparents house. Trost hobbies in Chicago was practically down the street from them. The stories go that when I was taken to these shops, my grandmother or aunt would offer to get me a car. "No, I think I'll have an engine." So a compromise would be a nice new Tyco...fill in blank... Sometimes, I would even make it home with a whole new set. What happened to all that stuff? When I was 10, my family moved to Florida - no basements in Florida. All of the train stuff was sold in our moving sale. $25 i think for everything! If you think that's bad, all of the Star Wars stuff went for $20[:(]
Anyway, after college, I got started back in the Chicago area and I'm slowly trying to get back to a point where I can have a layout. Almost there.
Thanks for letting me introduce myself with a long winded ramble...

As for the angry stuff, we got Mr. Fluffy here to take out any rough play....

WOW...in the neighborhood of Trost Hobbies! How awesome!
We really do discuss EVERYTHING HO-scale here...all the way down to the latest vehicles in 1/87th showing up at Wal-Mart. Be sure to check the New Products Forum, I try to post anything and everything I see or find out about on new train stuff.
Should you have any questions about the TYCO Resource or my other sites...AHM, Cox, Pemco, Life-Like, Revell, Bachmann, etc....please free to post or PM me. Always looking for pics and/or info on items not represented on the sites.
Welcome Aboard!

Hi NDW5332,
Welcome to the forum. I agree, these are the greatest folks around. I love it here! You are in my neck of the woods. I work in Chicago but don't live there. Please post any and all good train stores in the city.
Thanks Mike
