My set is one that I've been looking for for a while. A High Baller's set of 1870's passenger cars.

The baggage car.

The combine.

The coach/sleeper car (2 of these).

And the express car.

I've seen them once-in-a-while and they were running from $25 to $40 each. I got this set for $15 each. They have central Valley trucks and are set up for link-n-pin couplers.

Mega score, Old Tymer. I can't wait to see these on your rails. Are they metal? And that eagle emblem looks very crisp. Is it a decal??

The paint job is factory. The bodies are metal and the floors are wood. I've got the 1860's and 1890's cars and have been wanting the 1870's but they are not very common and are really rare in a complete set like this. Now I gotta fix up a loco to pull them.
Nice southern set there BN. Gonna look great with the loco pulling 'em.

I can't wait to see what those link and pin couplers look like. Maybe you could add a three fingered brake man to complete the mis-en-scene. But truly, those are super nice. Muy jealous.
Look's like you've rounded out the Crescent Limited score, Island. I'd love to see that photographed in action here on the Forum. I notice that RPO is a tad shorter than all the rest, and that baggage car is a most interesting design. A unique and beautiful train you've put together.

Note to self: get a photograph of gondolas loaded with insulin syringes and insulin vials. I have plenty of each. Hold the chocolate.

Glad you enjoyed it Fourteen. I have a taste for the zany, and it is nice to know at least one Tycohead out there gets the humor.
Hey, I see you're a Rock Island man. I'd sure enjoy seeing some Bankruptcy Blue. Give us some posts!!!
I found the E33, I think that's what it is, (Micro, help me out here) in a garage under a pile of stuff from an estate sale. It is a vintage Hobby Town and it came in Virginia colors. The prototype first came into being in the 1950's as a coal hauler and same RR, was later sold to NH, then it went PC, and then finished out its life in the 1980's under a coat of Conrail Blue.
From photos of the real E33, I believe they used a 3 axle truck, so I never knew why Hobby Town elected to use a four axle. Guess they had a lot in stock.
The motor got a cleaning and lube, and it runs really great and pulls like a Clydesdale. A can of French Blue spray paint, and voila! This is one of my favorite locos as I am a big time juice head.
