I got two of these at a recent show. I wanted to paint one silver and the other white. I am still trying to find a suitable silver paint that can be masked without ruining the silver paint when I pull the tape off. So... The white car got finished first. I used the Testor's Gloss White for the side, Semi Gloss for the black stripe, railing, trucks and base. I used Flat Black for the roof. Then I coated with my Testor's Gloss/Dullcoat 50/50 mix after applying the NJ Transit decals. This car came out so nice I am thinking about painting up 3 matching coaches to make a set for the Rivarossi NJT E8's I painted in white (shown in the background).

| Actually, back in the 60's-70's some Wall St types had their own car that looked like this one but in the old Lackawanna Green. It was attached to the end of the old MU train. That is what I based this one on....

I never seen a NJ transit or Amtrack inspection train. Last one I seen was the Conrail one running on the old elevated line that was in Jersey City's east side. Cant find the photo. frank

Atlas actually made a NJ Transit caboose.... Ocasionally, one can find them on Ebay. Do a search under HO NJ Transit.......
Chops, I am not painting over that observation. I am currently painting 3 coaches to match that car. I also plan to try to paint an aluminum one if I can find the paint.
