My COTW is an Athearn Blue Box era NMRA 25th anniversary express reefer from 1974. I've never seen anything like it until now, honestly. From what I can tell, the reefer was actually custom painted on the trucks and door, since all the other ones I could find had black trucks and unpainted door hinges. I got it pretty cheap, too, for like $6 including tax. The only problem, really, is that it's missing a handrail, but that's okay by me.

My COTW is a UP flat with a UP stake truck on it. Got it a few years ago at a WV train show.

This Electroetren 3 plank wagon is a reproduction of the original that had three smaller amphorae, painted red around the collar. I have found one image of the original amphorae load in a European model train book from the early 1970's, but having scoured the web have never found a like image again. Anyways, my sister "Underdog" May recreated this piece for me. If you find one, or even an image of one, please post.
Real nice flat, btw.

Was there also a matching nut car and flake car, all lettered for Frisco, or would that have been politically incorrect?

That fruit car is astonishing. The floor boards appear individually laid out. What is up with this hybrid reefer/passenger coach and why is it self propelled? Does it run??

I suppose that self-propelled box car could make for an interesting "run away" car scene on a layout.

That Thomas 6 dome Roma Wine car is very desirable. You were very lucky to find on in brand new condition. I have one, but mine was a $2 car from a box of many other $2 cars. I was lucky that all 6 domes were there and the paint was still very very good. I had to straighten out the running boards and hand rails and I had to fabricate 2 of the frame pieces, but I was able to do that and make it look like new. Congratulations on that find. Regards, Vic B.

Hi Vic ! At $2 you made out. My cheapest one was $6. if I remember correctly. That is the one with the 5 domes. I have a second one which is complete and built it was $8 or 10.This kit one is the third. I did find 1 Ambrose Wine car unbuilt. It would be neat to find a Ambrose one built up. Or one of their Baker's Chocolate tank cars. Not this Saturday but next is a very good train show in Allentown PA at Merchants Sq. Mall. I have my hopes up for that show. Or the last weekend in February is the Allentown Spring Thaw show A even better one. Might get lucky. frank
