Nice train! It looks like all the cars are metal. Is that so?

They're all Mantua Metal Products cars Don. I've posted them before, but it's been a while and maybe not in a consist like this. I liked the way the metal hoppers looked without the paper side; just the tarnished metal.

looks like a bunch od 3 foot gauge stuffs! this is what I'd ask for IF I lived in Colorado & was restoring the line between Durango & Chama
& I would try to get a WP&Y diesel that was never sent to WP&Y & redo it in Rio Grande or in Tyco's Durango scheme

The G&D lives on!
Interesting article, Micro. Be a shame to scrap those.

You did find something. That's interesting. I was just talking with a guy here who was telling me a Bob Shank owned those. Interesting in that 5+ years have gone by and they're still setting there. I can relate to how a museum would want them and then they have to come up with what to do with them and protect them, let alone the crazy expense of any restoration. On my return trip from Monte Vista, I did see a wooden box car on a trailer for sale in Saguache; no trucks though. Make a hell of a shed to set up a layout in.
