I got this in a box of train stuff at a flea market. When I first tried it, it was a dead short. However, when I took it apart I found it had
sucked up four track spikes, which were shorting it out. After I picked them out, cleaned up the commutator and wheels,
and lubed it, it runs pretty well!

Still, with only four wheels, operation is problematic. I'm going to rig up a short flat car with pick-ups and wire it to the engine for better pick-up.

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out.

Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

Nice piece. I believe you could dip it into a bowel of egg yolk and make scrambled eggs
what with all those side rods!

It always interests me to see how different modelers put these things together. For all the simplicity of these little locomotives, they get their imagination provoking message across. This all black works pretty good. I've been thinking for awhile I'd like to paint one like an old standard gauge Lionel . . . gloss black with a red highlight here and there.

From the Chops Archives. An RS somethingorrather, Model Power I think. Started
out as a Rio Grande, then to N de M, later to B&M. At one point in her career she
was wired for DCC. A lovely machine, it runs like a clock and pulls hard.
