Over the years I've collected a number of 1990s battery powered train set pieces, including a bunch of equipment made by Toystate. While the locomotives don't run on Lionel tubular track very well, the cars work fairly well.

My most recent kitbash started as a Toystate Santa/Reindeer car. After a little hacksawing and the addition of some washers, eyehooks, picture hanging wire, and some sticks from the backyard, I've got a logging flat that can run on my Lionel layout. I've compared it with a vintage cheap Marx flatcar to show size and scale.
