Very nice, Microbusss. My DOTW is an Auto World 1973 Dodge Challenger I got for Christmas.

Hi All,
AMC_Gremlin_GT: I really like those two trucks, The NA truck is very cool!
Microbusss: WOW! that tootsie dumper is sweet. Can you tell us who made the pink rubber car and the yellow one in front of it. Is the red truck with the nub on the back a semi tractor from Barclay?
kovacste000: The detail on that AW Challenger is very nice.
Thanks for sharing

AW / Auto World info :
For those of you new to diecast, AW was started from the ashes of Johnny Lightning employees, first they did slot cars, and used some of JL / Aurora stuff, and then they branched out into the True 1:64 scale diecast. Johnny Lightning, btw, was a 2-year competitor originally with Hotwheels in 68 and 69, then they went belly up. Bought up and brought back to life in the early 90's, under Playing Mantis, JL went on to accumulate an impressive track record of diecast cars then they got bought by Racing Champions, then Tomy bought them all up about 3 years ago, and JL went through some transformations, then slowly died around 2012, no new diecast. The employees were let go, and some of them went on to form AW, which is still ongoing, and turning out some incredibly detailed TRUE 1/64 diecast cars ( no trucks yet, except one 66 El Camino ). So that's the history of the new diecast company AW in a nutshell. Wal-mart and Toys R Us are the main sellers, Hobby Lobby has been selling them as of 2014, and there are some other stores that do, too. But distribution has been tough, diecast lovers want more choices, but gettnig them picked up has been an uphill battle. But they make very fine diecast for the price, 3 series, from around $3 to $7 for the premium series (wal-mart has only 2 of the series, and cheaper ). Nice Challenger btw. There are two Chase car types - a rich candy apple red, and a super-rare raw metal, so if you see either type, they are the ones to grab! I've gotten a few Ultra Reds, but so far, haven't seen a Raw chase car yet. Some of the reds are deceiving, but it has to be a metallic candy apple red to be a true Chase red. This important info brought to by Jerry, diecast hunter on the East Coast, Mid-Altantic region.

pink car = Auburn Rubber Co yellow car = MP Co? red truck = Tootsietoy
Most any Auburn Rubber is hard to find The TT dump truck is missing the rear flap & looks like the wheels were replaced

Looks like this is the place to confess my Tootsietoy addiction. I've loved TT cars for pretty much all my life. I can't remember not having them. Even in my earliest days, I seemed to understand that I could get a whole pack of them for the price of one Hot Wheels ( but I got plenty of them as well.) So here's something I picked up at a flea market a while back. I think I gave 7 bucks for it. The plastic bubble is melted, but the cars are mostly OK. The black one has a warped wheel.

I used to pick up a couple cars every time I went to a flea market, but now....no way! They're like 7 bucks a car or more.

I have two of those, actually. I have the bright blue hot rod and the black dragster thing. The blue one I got for 50 cents and the black car I got for free because I got it from relatives.

Hi All,
Microbusss: Thanks for the info. on the cars. If the Tootsie dumper has all plastic wheels including the axle then they should be the original wheels for the truck. Like these.

burlington77: I'm with you, I also collect Midgetoy like this.

Thanks for sharing everyone.
