Greetings,

I am a new member. I grew up with the older Tyco/Mantua trains with the metal bases. I also had the older yellow-box Athearn cars with the sprung trucks.

I have not had a layout since I was a kid, but in recent years, since they started making the track with the snap-together roadbed, I have been setting up fairly elaborate winter-themed layouts around the holidays.

A lot of the cars and engines I had as a kid got trashed, so in recent years, I have been seeking good condition Tyco/Mantua and Athearn cars from that period.

Looking forward to perusing the site!

Glad to hear another train lover is getting back into it. Plenty of Mantua still out there looking for a good home! Welcome aboard, Shock.

Oh...so ho-scaletrains.net is to blame?

Thanks all! Yes, over the past several years, between eBay and model train shows, I have been able to find many of the Tyco/Mantua and yellow-box Athearn cars I had as a kid. A few continue to elude me. Thanks again!

Hey, welcome to the forum, man!
