Rolling out the Mantua metal this week, a car I just got from a LHS on Saturday for $5. Nice to get an original blue box as well for the money!  Anyway, a very nicely done gondola, someone had already created a pipe load for it, was in the box as well. Will eventually have to create a total all metal Mantua consist to run someday.

 Very nice Mantua. My COTW is an IHC Amtrak coach that came with my IHC Amtrak GG1 I got at a recent train show for $40.

| 20 years ago I thought those advertising cars were a joke. Now I've got boxes full of them that I've tracked down at train shows. Life is funny.

ICC had a rule since the 1920s to ban all advertizing on railroad cars
This is since null & void YAY!!
I asked the NTSB about the rule one time & its null & void
Advertizing on cars would be a great money maker for railroads
Forgot to add

I still do
I can buy into most of the billboard cars that have an actual product on them, but when they get into movie themes and cartoon characters they lose me.

My car of the week is a really good find. Got it on ebay for $17.00 + $9.00 shipping. It's in
almost new condition to boot. I can convert my older one into the coach for the funeral
train.

Someone posted the Doritos car a couple weeks back and got me drooling for one. Found one along with the uber cool Champion spark plug car. The seller threw in the Tootsie Roll car for good measure.
