I have an old Mantua stock car in poor shape lettered for Missouri Pacific (NOT&M), but the positions of the road name and reporting marks are switched. The lettering appears to be adhesive labels, so it could have been done by a modeler during the assembly of a kit, which IMHO, wouldn't amount to anything, but a factory error is something else. Does anyone happen to have any insight into this?

It seems to be on the proper side to me. Compare it to all the box cars in the same photo and it is the same. Even 3 of the 4 remaining cars have the recording number and some sort of road name on the left. Only the PRR hopper has the number in the middle.
