Hi. I'm Brad, a new member. I have a retail collectibles store, Brad's Coins, Comics and Cards, in the Boston area and just recently bought a huge 1970s train collection, mostly Tyco and AHM. I've been putting them up individually on ebay. I just listed the Quaker 324D at what I thought was a very reasonable starting price of $10, and someone contacted me to offer me $25 to sell it outright, which is more than it's worth, as far as I can tell. So having a suspicious mind, I'm thinking he knows something I don't. I'm posting the pics of the train here and if anyone can tell me what I'm missing, or to take the money, I'd appreciate it.

Looks like the Quaker car was a sample car. Probably worth about $25-35.

That's not a car I'd seen before. Being a "billboard" tanker, Quaker oats, I'd suspect it IS collectible to the right people. I've never run across one like that myself. Pretty cool.

The Quaker chemical car what part of a three cars offered by TYCO. There was a tanker, the 50 foot box car, and the extremly rare piggyback trailer. I've only ever seen one trailer and going in circles has it. The tanker is rare, but not extremely rare; I have seen them without a box go as much as $25 and with a box as much as $40. The 25 dollars your being offered is a reasonable offer and if I was selling m ine I would take it.
