For this week, my COTW is a Revell 1956 New Haven box car that's actually quite battered.

Just be make sure we're all confused, here is my Tyco red box Burlington box car. Even has the same stirrup missing! Doesn't have the black in the Burlington logo though.

My bad. After I cleaned of the bottom, it says Mantua. I should have put on my glasses. the bottom of the car is metal, it has screw in trucks. You have a good eye Jerry.

Nice boxes this week guys. I'm afraid you won't see me as a COTW contributor often but I got this old AHM Circus car I found at a flea market staring at me, so I thought I would share. $5 in box marked as 2.99 original price.

Putting up a customized passenger car, got this in a box lot from a train guy at my LHS a few weeks ago. Trucks are broken, but the passenger car itself is fairly nice. I like Observation cars, will work on this one later.

Nice find Gremlin, that is a keeper. WKS- fabulous use of color on color. The glint of the stream below makes me want to jump into it.
No more excuses, I need to pull out the Winter/Fall layout and start shooing some "film."
Dang, all those beautiful red box cars make me want to start collecting red Tyco boxcars for a red train. I got PC green, B&M blue, Conrail blue, Rio Grande yellow... The slippery slope is beckoning, must stop... must...run...can't...breath...

Yorkshire pudding and roast beef on the menu today. As a boy of 7, I recall watching the hedgerows roll by from a dining coach. Happy train memories.
I also remember, a few years earlier, trying to sleep in the "soft class" (no Capitalist first, second, third class in the USSR) of the overnight express from Stalingrad to Leningrad. It was like being a Vulcan space craft with such a rough ride it was a wonder it stayed on the rails.

Well, you might not post a COTW too often, but when you do, you don't monkey around!
I see these things routinely getting $40 on ebay.
