As promised, this week it's time for the Munsters. This is really nice state of the art kit. The tower is a tricky and there is an error or two in the instructions but it builds up rather nicely. I kept my build not so run down and creepy. Trivia: This same house (modified) was used in 'Desperate House Wives'

Gomez Furniture has been on the layout seen the 1980s. Note it's Tycos Miracle Furniture Store. There is a Adams Furniture near my home so it was a play on the name.

That's a neat grouping of buildings. A lot of older towns have a section of Victorian style mansions. This really captures the feeling of those formerly upscale neighborhoods.

Actually, the Psycho House is next weeks botw, and the Munster's and the other Victorian are not at their final locations. This grand old neighborhood is still in planning and will also feature the Addams, of course.

Have 8 square feet for a farm scene that was in the plans for years... I placed the Tyco barn in that area for the photo...

Speaking of objects at rest, this sat in a box, for over a decade, from
whence I had retrieved it from one my daughter's discarded toys,
until I pulled it out and gave it a coat of gray paint to kill the Disney effect.
I think I will have to saw off the roofs ofthe turrets to give it a more Norman
look. Destined for the British layout. I'll cover up those molded plastic tree
thingys with vines. I checked the Walther's catalogue; they are fresh out of
Castle of London. Future project: compressed version of Stonehenge. Anyone
have one for trade?

Chops - I definitely want to see your castle when it's done. It should be very cool. Other idea is a big themed toy store for that thing.

Frank, I thought there was something fishy about your layout. Actually, one of those towers look a lot like the old water tower here in Chicago.

Nope it's just the Water Tower. It's famous for surviving the Chicago Fire of 1871. Now it's right in the middle of Michigan Ave surrounded by much more towering skyscrapers and upscale shopping.
