For this week, my AOTW is a bunch of old H0 scale track.

Love old brass track. Everytime I see it I want to build something.
A lot of people say brass doesn't conduct as well as nickel silver, but I find that a little cleaning with Wahl's Hair Clipper Oil it exceeds NS in performance, and the oil keeps it clean and free of oxide for three months, easy. Plus, the warm patina of brass can't be beat for simple beauty.

This week my accessory is a Jordon Popcorn wagon. I figure I've built well over a thousand models in the last 55 years and this little thing was as tough as any of them.

I've built a few Jordan kits, too and each one nearly cost me my sanity (such as it is), but they are real gems! That popcorn wagon could be the centerpiece of an interesting little vignette on the layout.

Very nice Gary. I been thinkin' about doin' another one of those Jordan kits. I did the buckboards once and hopin' that I learned enough caution to try another.

Think I'll go off the wall with my AOTW. Mine is a card board cutout western town I got to put on my test track. Won't have to use my good kits for it.
It'll give me an idea of how my locos and cars will look on my layout when I get to build it.
By the way Gary, nice to see how the Jordan kits turn out. I've got most of the wagons, including the hearse. Very good work on that piece.

I've actually seen one of those things at the Pacific Science Center over the years.

Buss, do you happen to have any fancy brass track, such as single slips, double slips, or 3-ways?

Single and double slips are crossing diamonds that also double as switches. They can be set for the train to roll straight across or turn onto the track that cuts across the track the train is on.
Three way switches are like regular switches except that the track splits into three different routes instead of just two.

Getting back on track, my AOTW offering is another one horse power unit that has traveled about with me since I picked it up in an LA hobby shop in 1992. Recently resurrected onto my new British layout, in progress.

Very nice popcorn wagon, Gary. Anyone who can put together a Jordan metal kit and have it come out looking like that has my respect!
Also, I'd like to get rid of brass track as well if anyone wants it. I have a whole pile of random straights and curves and junk, plus one 3-way switch (the ones AHM imported in the 70s), although I might want to hold on to that.
