I have been out of HO trains for decades. I picked up a TYCO set, at a bazaar, to add to my nephew's train set - a dozen cars, lots of track, 2 transformers, no engine, no instructions.

I have a "remote control" log dump car set (#926) and a "remote control" freight unloading box car (#930) and a TYCO model 899V transformer. Could someone provide instructions on how to hook up these two accessories.

If I recall correctly, at least the log dump car has that bluish gray thing with the brass contacts that the metal nubs on the car touch. From that, a pair of wires should lead to a plastic box with a button on it. Another pair of wires emerges from the other side of the button and that should be hooked to the AC accessories screws on the power pack.

Check out the website; hoseeker.net

Browse around there for the literature you need. Usually you will be able to find the original operating instructions.

I have both the log dump car and unloading boxcar on my layout. I run them off a TYCO 899V power pack set up on my control panel (I use a Bachmann E-Z Command unit to run my trains, and it doesn't have AC accessory terminals, so I just used what I had!)
The TYCO Layout Expander System manual provides instructions on how to set it up and use it, too. The 1975 and 1977 editions can be found here...

Even in today's DCC age, they still look great on a layout.
