UGH. Cat hair +trains = not good.
The cat is banned from the train room! But I see others allow their catzillas to roam
I would think a good vacuuming every few days would keep it manageable though.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Vacuum the cat daily and keep the whole house hair free.

I do know someone who vacuums his dog, but he's been doing that since it was a pup and the dog just thinks it's a big game. I have some doubts about so calm of a cat, though.

I think with layouts you have to be concerned about a couple of things....1) is your ballast well-glued, and 2) how well are your scenery pieces attached? You could accidently vaccum up people and other small objects. A smaller, gentler vacuum would probably work better than a major shop vac. . At any rate, I know people who do vacuum theirs, just not with a shop vac. . Long as you're careful, you should be OK. It's a problem I may eventually have, if A) I ever get room enough for a layout and B) there are any cats left by then.
