I was down that way in 2003. The folks of the Durbin and Greenbriar Valley are really nice people who seem to accomplish a lot. Best wishes to them on this project!

That's awesome! Will have to pay a visit. Only 3.5 hours away.

If only I lived anywhere near that area. But still, it's great to see another steam engine being put back in service. It seems like there's more and more people who want to bring steam back into service here in the US and that makes me happy. It seems like one thing that's inspired this country to do this all of a sudden is what the British did with Tornado, their A1 Peppercorn Pacific built in 2008. At least, that's what I think. It definitely seems like it's exploded since then.

Ironically I will probably be 18 hours away in Texas when this locomotive starts operating here
It's in great hands though, and I'm happy it's being brought back to life on that route.
I've rode the Cass Railroad many, many times over the years - it never gets old. It's also great to see the route from Cass to Durbin along the Greenbrier River reopened. I never thought I would see the day, the 1985 flood really took it out.
